Scared for college...

I'm going to be starting university on the 23rd and I'm literally losing sleep over it. I've never been so nervous in my life! All I want is to keep my GPA up, but it sounds so impossible (I just think I'm being pessimistic). And financial aid is so tough to understand, too. I'm a bit disappointed that I have to take out loans to pay for the required meal plan, which is dumb because I can easily go home and eat my parents' lovely food. Right now all I can do is to keep a positive attitude, but it's getting to be a little bit difficult.

I should start writing more....

I write like
J. K. Rowling

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

I was surprised I got J.K. Rowling! I adore her writing style which doesn't even compare to mine. I've been liking writing more and more throughout the years; I no longer cringe when I hear the word essay and I managed to get a 5 (the highest score) on the AP Literature exam. Rowling is one of my writing role models, along with Mary Shelley (Frankenstein).

one year already?

I still can't believe it's been one year since MJ died. But I did celebrate his career and musical gifts today! I brought all of my CDs and blared his music out of my car going to and coming back from my haircut. It felt nice to listen to Michael's voice. It's really pretty and personal, like he's right beside me and speaking to me. I can feel his presence everyday and when I'm sad I listen to his songs. He'll always be in my heart! I don't know what happens after we die but I hope I'll get to meet him and tell him how much he's influenced me. I always try my best in school because I know I'll be successful like MJ (he worked hard on his music!). I miss you MJ and I hope you have found eternal peace.

dorm time :)

I finally received my dorm assignment from USF, and I'm relieved that it's my first choice. I was so scared about not getting the right dorm! Juniper, the name of the dorm I will be living in, was built just last year and has a Starbucks on the first floor. What I love most about it is that Honors College students live with me so my roommates all share the same interests! I can't wait until the fall :)

graduation day!

So the day has finally come... I'll be graduating from high school at three this afternoon. I can't believe this day is here, I mean I still remember the first day I stepped into high school as a freshman- scared and nervous. Now I'll be walking in my gap and gown to receive my diploma. Personally it's a sad day because I'll might not see most of my friends in a long time due to college (my sister too) but it's a time to move on to a new journey with an unexpected destination, college! So congrats to the Class of 2010! :)

I watched The Human Centipede last night, out of sheer morbid curiosity. I've heard so much about this film from various communities around LJ, so I decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, it wasn't that bad... It lacked the traditional gore fest of most horror films, but it did come with psychological horror. It was as if the writer of the film solely wrote the script to scar people for life, because the whole "evil surgeon trying to create a creature with one digestive tract" thing could maybe be possible (The creator of the movie consulted a real life surgeon). I did enjoy the medical aspect of the movie, such as the removal of the ligaments in the knees of the victims to allow permanent crawling (I didn't know that!). It was also interesting to have the movie set in Germany and have Japanese characters, which alludes to Nazi human experimentation and the Japanese Empire's medical experiments during World War II. I love subtle touches like that! Overall, the movie wasn't too cracked out as people made it to be. Sure, there are some cringe inducing moments but it is bodily horror. If you're sitting alone late at night with nothing to do (like I was) go ahead and watch it. It's a great way to kill off some boredom.

Now to finish typing up my mother's anesthesia paper.

baha I love haikus... their format results in hilarious situations ("nasty smell of gas/emanating from the butt/warning all to leave")

I'm sitting here with an facial depilatory as I type this entry. Why? I'm getting ready for an orchestra banquet, my last. Orchestra has been a good and bad thing in high school. There has always been some sort of drama when I walk into class, some ridiculous. I've seen some of my fellow students fight over chairs (where they sit) and who gets the solo or whatever. This has shown me that music should really just be a hobby, not a serious profession. It's a fun little ability to be able to play an instrument or sing and it should be done to create happiness, not stress (in my case). So I hope the banquet will remind all of our departing seniors, including me, that orchestra is a fun hobby, and not some stress inducing tear fest.

Do any of you shamoners have the audio for the various Bad Tour concerts, such as London, Rotterdam, and Rome? It's been ages since I've heard these tracks, which is a shame because this is where MJ was at his prime! Please help me out :) Thank you guys!

I've never understood the Black Friday hype. People cramming into stores at the break of dawn seemed so irrational and weird, but now I understand why those cray crays do it. Yesterday was my first time getting up on Black Friday, since my mother wanted a GPS (she's bad with directions) and I wanted a Macbook. My laptop was seriously pissing me off the past few months because it was acting slow and erratic so my mom told me she would get me one- only if I woke up at 5 am the day after Thanksgiving. Friday arrived and I ended up waking up at 9 am instead. I was so close to not getting up and going, but I gave it a chance; I REALLY wanted a new laptop. We get there at Best Buy and I waited in a line that almost went around the whole store. After one hour of waiting, I got my Macbook. Surprised? I was too. There were only five of those Macbooks left and I actually got one; I'm still smiling inside at my extreme luck. This whole experience really did show me why people get up so early. I'm really glad I did- you can consider me one of those cray crays. :D
